- having a one-level house with no stairs
- the fact that our renovation is complete (just wrapped up last month)
- my big shower
- the increased qt with my kids (see previous post)
- the high quality care I got from the paramedics all the way through to surgery (see earlier posts)
- my general fitness and nutrition level going into this predicament
- the sneaky trick I’ve learned, how to hoist my bad leg up onto the bed by hooking my good foot underneath and lifting with it
- keeping my upper body strength training going by lifting dumbbells in the office a few times each week (more on this later)
- the time of year: yes, while it is hard to not be outside much these days, the fact that it’s warm and sunny helps my mood a lot. Including keeping the windows open at night and waking up to the birds chirping
