I read some sad news this morning on the Globe & Mail website. Movie trailer voiceover king Don LaFontaine passed away yesterday, due to unspecified complications from an unspecified illness. He was 68.
Not sure how his shoes will be filled, but it’s safe to say that his was a unique and great voice, a reassuring and convincing voice. He was the penultimate salesman and from what I’ve read, his personality was welcomed and his attitude fresh in Hollywood.
Don LaFontaine was good at what he did and he seemed to have a lot of fun. The celebrity without a face. The star without a credit.
