Ride: August 26, 2013 – Lunchtime Ride to Iona

As the clock neared 12pm, I started to feel inundated and stressed while staring at my computer and the mountain of various work projects I have on the go. This is precisely the time when I love cycling the most. Needing to burn off some steam (and wanting to beat the forecasted afternoon rain showers) I suited up and ripped out to Iona Beach. Once at Iona, I felt strong and balanced and was putting down some speeds and cadence that I was really proud of heading westward, then once I turned around I discovered it was because I was riding downwind (duh). Still happy with pace and cadence. The Cat. 4 Cambie Street climb was also a strong effort, though I caught a few red lights which inhibited my progress. It was cool but overall very pleasant weather. And I feel so much better now. 🙂
