I see you – you see me!
Some of my Twitter followers might recall that back in the early parts of summer I saw the infamous Google car not once, but twice: cruising around Cochrane and then again near my house in Kensington neighbourhood of Calgary.
Here were my tweets:
We saw the Google car just outside Cochrane today! Sentra-like auto, google stickers, w/ a 4′ camera snorkel on top. We regret not waving.10:24 PM Jun 18th from web
Just spotted the Google car in Kensington! http://yfrog.com/bfvf1wj Yep, I waived!12:32 PM Jul 3rd from Twitterrific
(**yes, I know I spelled “waved” incorrectly… thanks dear… but maybe I didn’t? Maybe I waived… …my right to… …something)
Well, Google launched Street View in Canada yesterday – accessible through their Maps and Earth services, so of course I had to take a look and see where I was. Funny enough (though I suppose it makes sense), I appear! Here are the corresponding Google-taken pictures to those tweets:
It appears that I was busy twit-pic’ing rather than waving in the second picture, but who cares. Beggars can’t be choosers… Or, subjects can’t pose… Or whatever. Thanks Google, for blurring my face. I must protect my anonymity. hehe
I love it when random events come full circle in their own special little ways… This has been fun. On to something else!
That’s cool to have this develop full-circle…
