Another tapered training ride with my neighbour, this time on a route that he enjoys as a change of pace: straight down Vancouver’s 49th Avenue all the way through Burnaby. I did not turn out to be as much a fan of this route, since it involves starting and stopping at innumerable lights and is choked with a sizeable amount of traffic (although we usually had a second lane/shoulder to ride in). Additionally, there was nothing scenic about it. Nice to give it a try though.
I’ve decided that I like circuitous routes rather than there-and-backs. Change of scenery where and when possible.
It was a beautiful morning none the less, yet at 8:30 still crisp outside. It’s clear that we’re in the dog days of summer!
My hip is feeling a lot better today; range of motion when stretching has increased however the pinch is still there.
I’m disappointed to see that the long-range forecast for Saturday’s Gran Fondo looks crappy at this point… Rain, rain and more rain. Hoping something changes and we get good weather for the ride.
